Highmark Wholecare held its last 2025 Farm - to - Family produce market in New Castle on Wednesday with a free fresh produce giveaway, giving up to 400 families the chance to get food provided by the Great Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
"A lot of good people here contributing to our community, helping everyone out, feeding them, it's a great thing," Gregg Paladina, superintendent of New Castle Area School District, said. "It's just a tremendous thing for our community; they really need it right now around the holidays. We're 96% poverty here in New Castle, and it's a great thing that they're doing." Around 60 Junior ROTC members, along with teachers, students, local church goers and community members volunteered at the event, helping hand out food. The food insecurity
