The Atlanta Braves are bringing back one of their most important relievers.
Closer Raisel Iglesias and the Braves are in agreement on a one-year, $16-million deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Iglesias pitched to a 3.21 ERA in 2025 for the Braves, recording 29 saves in 34 opportunities.
While the 35-year-old’s strikeout numbers have taken a step back, Iglesias has continued to be a consistent end-of-game option in recent seasons.
Iglesias features a four-pitch mix, including a fastball that sits just below 95 m.p.h., a sinker, a slider and a changeup.
For his career, the right-hander has saved 253 games in 11 seasons, spending time with Atlanta, the Los Angeles Angels and the Cincinnati Reds.
He has pitched to a 2.90 ERA over 736 career innings while striking out 869 batters.
