November is National Family Caregivers Month.
It's a time to raise awareness for the millions of people in the United States taking care of multiple dependents, some dealing with complex medical conditions.
Congressman Josh Harder is introducing new legislation that will help people financially who are taking care of their loved ones.
He said he had a personal connection to the issue, with a mother-in-law who has late-stage dementia.
"I'm one of millions of folks across California, part of that sandwich generation, taking care of both young kids and aging parents at the same time," he said.
His bill would provide a $10,000 tax credit for all caregiving expenses, he said.
