KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - In August, if you told someone Halls or Central would be in the 5A semi-finals, they’d have some follow-up questions for you.
That is the reality. The region rivals will meet in a postseason edition of the Battle of Black Oak Ridge, with the winner facing either Lincoln County or reigning state champion Sevier County in the final four.
We know a lot about them, but they also know a lot about us," said Halls quarterback Amari Lethgo. “It is definitely a good rivalry.”
Halls began 2025 0-3. The Red Devils’ only loss since then came in the final minute against the Bobcats.
The Bobcats have exceeded expectations throughout 2025, holding a place in the 5A top ten for much of the season.
The Bobcats are battle-tested, with six of their ten wins coming by 10 points
