WASHINGTON —
President Donald Trump signed the bill forcing the release of Justice Department files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday night, but that doesn't mean all the documents will become public right away.
Congress fast-tracked the legislation with overwhelming bipartisan support shortly after the president reversed his position and told Republicans to back the effort, even as he continued to describe it as a Democratic "hoax."
Now that it is signed, the Justice Department will have 30 days to release a trove of documents related to the sex trafficking investigation into Epstein, as well as the probe into his death in federal prison in 2019.
Attorney General Pam Bondi addressed the next steps on Wednesday, telling reporters, "We will continue to follow
