DARLINGTON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The WIAA State Football Championships begin Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium.
Darlington is ready to play for the Division 6 crown, having won every game this season by at least two touchdowns.
On Wednesday afternoon, Darlington Elementary and Middle School students cheered on the football team as the players paraded through the hallways. The Redbirds are preparing to represent their program's proud football tradition in Madison.
"It's been a long time," junior quarterback Zeke Zuberbuhler said. "It's been a little too long. So I think with that community behind us, it's just like — I don't even know how to explain it, like, you look up in the stands, just even at one of our playoff home games and it's like, 'wow, the whole town's just here.'"
