BOWIE COUNTY, Texas (KSLA) - Two locomotives were commissioned in service Wednesday, November 19 at TexAmericas Center in Bowie County, part of a $3.15 million investment to increase internal capacity and elevate safety for employees and contractors at the site.

TexAmericas Center is the fifth-ranked industrial park in the nation.

Officials said the locomotives will connect tenants to broader markets as a designated Union Pacific Focus Site, making the region more competitive for investment and jobs.

“This would allow us to do work that we previously couldn’t do for tenants so now we can meet any and every need for current and future tenants when it comes to rail movement across our property,” said Scott Norton with TexAmericas Center.
