MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department is investigating after a stolen crashed into a tree and partially blocked traffic on Madison’s east side early Wednesday morning.

A call came in around 5:30 a.m. for the area of Lexington and Mayfair Avenues for a report of a crash.

According to MPD, no one was inside the vehicle. The ignition showed signed of being tampered with, MPD explained.

Authorities contacted the registered owner, who confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

No arrests have been made.
