Police are searching for a suspect following

According to police, a man was found shot to death in the parking lot outside of the Creekside Apartment Complex in the 1400 block of Virgil Street.

On Wednesday, police named 56-year-old Mark Haynes as a suspect in the case, and said he was wanted on second-degree murder and weapons charges.

No further details about a motive have been released.

According to police, Haynes is a violent felon who should be considered armed and dangerous. He is currently on parole for armed robbery.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident or Haynes' whereabouts to contact the GPD at 504-366-4374.
