With a name fit for stardom and the golf game to possibly make a run at it, Fairview senior Miles Kuhl is thinking less and less about his recent state title, and more about what awaits him at San Diego State University and beyond.

It’s been 1 1/2 months since Kuhl won the Class 5A individual boys golf championship in Grand Junction and he’s already back on the course, playing in other tournaments, readying for the next step.

Kuhl is committed to San Diego State, where PGA dreams don’t just live. They’re being played out at the sport’s highest level as school alumni Xander Schauffele and J.J. Spaun — ranked third and sixth in the world, respectively — have combined to win three men’s golf majors over the past two seasons.
