LOS LUNAS, N.M. —
A suspect has been arrested after a head-on weekend crash killed a mother and critically injured her two children.
Richard Molina, 37, of Albuquerque, was arrested by the Valencia County Sheriff's Office. He was taken into custody after law enforcement found him speeding in the wrong lane and open containers inside his vehicle.
The crash resulted in the death of 38-year-old Veronica Ferraro, of Los Lunas. Her children, who were seriously hurt, were described as being aged 12 and 7, respectively. The fatal crash happened on El Cerro Loop on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16.
