New Delhi: A tragic incident happened in Musimaha village, Kandhamal district, where a four-year-old boy died after he choked on a miniature toy hidden inside a chips packet.

The boy, identified as Bigil Pradhan, was the son of farmer Ranjit Pradhan, 40. According to his family, Bigil had returned home from the anganwadi centre on Tuesday and was eating chips, which his father had bought from the market.

No FIR filed

By mistake, he swallowed a small plastic toy that was inside the packet. The toy got stuck in his throat, causing him to choke. Despite all the efforts by his parents to help, Bigil fell unconscious. His parents quickly took him to the Daringbadi Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead just after the arrival.
