The number of abandoned animals across the country continues to rise, leaving many dogs in dangerous situations caused by careless and irresponsible owners.

One particularly heartbreaking incident occurred in Crowley, Texas, where an entire litter of puppies was discarded in an open field on an extremely hot day. Confined inside a carrier with no water, the tiny pups were close to collapsing from heat and dehydration.

Thankfully, a passerby noticed the carrier and immediately alerted the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office , setting a rescue effort into motion.
