[REINBECK, Iowa] — A recount is underway for the Gladbrook-Reinbeck bond referendum after voters narrowly approved the $17 million bond earlier this month. The measure passed by only 17 votes.
The Tama County Auditor confirmed that a resident of the school district submitted a petition for a recount. The bond aims to address facility and infrastructure needs at the 104-year-old junior high and high school building, including upgrades to heating and cooling systems and ensuring ADA compliance.
Recounts are being conducted this week and on Monday across each of the four counties within the school district.
