CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 News) — A major change is coming to the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. UVA is preparing to clear an existing building to make way for a new AI-focused facility named Whitehead Road, part of a $4.5 million partnership with Capital One aimed at expanding artificial intelligence research and education.
UVA Engineering leaders say the investment will help position Virginia as a national force in emerging AI fields. The goal is to expand research, fund graduate fellowships, and give students access to advanced tools used across today’s fastest-growing technology sectors.
