For years, Hidma was a ghost. Security forces did not even know what he looked like, often interrogating surrendered cadres using a catalogue of photographs in the hope of identifying him. A clear photograph surfaced only earlier this year, giving agencies their first solid visual lead after years of speculation based on interrogations and sketches.
