The early offseason reports indicate the Toronto Blue Jays are in the market for a high-leverage reliever.
For example, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported that the Blue Jays met with the representation for New York Mets star closer Edwin Díaz. Also, it was reported earlier in the week that the Blue Jays had interest in Atlanta Braves reliever Raisel Iglesias.
The latter, however, won't happen. The 35-year-old Iglesias reportedly inked a one-year deal on Wednesday to return to the Braves.
After the deal broke between the Braves and Iglesias, reports started to pop up about other teams that were interested in him. Toronto, unsurprisingly, was mentioned. But, there were conflicting reports. Beisbolfr.com's Francys Romero reported that both the Blue Jays and Dodgers offered Igles
