A national TikTok challenge was connected to several incidents in Elk Grove within the past month, according to the police department.

Elk Grove police on Monday said officers have responded to at least eight cases within the past month involving kids kicking the front doors of strangers' homes.

"Some of the damage we've seen has been very minimal to extensive damage, where you're talking, the entire door has been busted. You're looking at a homeowner or whoever lives there is looking at $600 to $900 worth of damage that they're going to have to figure out how to fix," Elk Grove Police Sergeant Jason Jimenez said.
