While the Worrowing Heights fire has been under control since Tuesday, November 18, Rural Fire Service crews are slowly burning out a pocket of unburnt vegetation today (Thursday, November 20).
The planned burn is being carried out to eliminate the risk of the fire reigniting when firefighters are not present.
The RFS has advised residents to not be alarmed if they see an increase in smoke in the region.
The burn is being carried out as crews continue patrolling the fireground, with the RFS saying no issues had been reported during those patrols.
The RFS has also reminded people to download the Hazards Near Me NSW app and set a watch zone.
