No Timeline can be fixed for approval of Bills by President/Governors: Supreme Court

New Delhi, November 20, 2025: In an important Judgement which is bound to affect politics in the country, Supreme Court has ruled that President and Governors of the state can't be bound to approve Bills sent to them under a timeline which means there can be no timeline fixed for approval of such bills.

Ruling has been given by a bench led by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai today whhich said the imposition of a timeline is "strictly contrary" to the Constitution. The other judges on the bench were Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice PS Narasimha, and Justice AS Chandurkar.
