Lando Norris has denied there are tensions between himself and Australia’s Oscar Piastri as the McLaren teammates battle for the Formula 1 championship.

Piastri led the standings for most of the season but a dramatic recent form reversal sees Norris take a 24-point lead into the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the first weekend of a season-ending triple-header.

McLaren refused to designate either driver as the favourite and is giving both an equal chance to win the title without giving preferential treatment, though Piastri has admitted the Monza positional switch still irks.

Speculation has lingered that tension has developed between the teammates in recent times, with McLaren’s social media output adding fuel to the fire in the eyes of some.
