The independent property consultancy’s analysis of Real Capital Analytics data found that - of the £305 million of deals involving hotels in Scotland between January and September - Edinburgh accounted for 74.4% or £227m of this national total.

Knight Frank observed hotel transactions in Edinburgh this year have included the sale of the W hotel, which was acquired by Schroders Capital. The property consultancy described this as “one of the largest sales of recent years”.

It also noted the Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh had been purchased by Dubai-based investor Dutco Group.
