An Agra-based man, his wife, and their one and half-year-old daughter are stranded in Douala, Cameroon, Central Africa after what he describes as a prolonged ordeal involving passport confiscation, financial distress, and alleged harassment.
In a self-made video circulated on X, Dheeraj Jain, an employee of a tour and travel company since 2012, has issued a desperate appeal to the Government of India to facilitate their safe return home.
Jain claims that although his employment contract expired, he was not allowed to leave the country, and his passport was seized by individuals connected to his employer. With no income and no access to travel documents, the family says they are struggling to afford even basic necessities, including milk for their young daughter.
