Rob Beaudrie heard the grumbles.

Jefferson’s football team always has built its offense around a powerful running game.

Then, Beaudrie brought a spread attack to Marc Cisco Field in 2023.

That was heresy for many Bear fans.

“They were so used to that Cisco style,” Beaudrie said.

The third-year coach says his offense isn’t so different from what Cisco used during his 47 seasons as boss of the Bears.

“We run ground and pound out of the spread,” he said.

Beaudrie had a difficult time spreading that message in his first two seasons as Jefferson went 2-7 and 1-8.

But this season, the results have been obvious.

The Bears have scored 524 points through 12 games (an average of 43.7 per game) and have amassed 5,000 total yards, including 3,828 on the ground.
