Authorities in Nepal have reimposed a curfew in Bara district after fresh clashes erupted between Gen-Z protesters and cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (UML), led by ousted Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The District Administration Office announced that the curfew will remain in force until 8 pm (local time) on Thursday, citing escalating tensions and the need to restore order.

The confrontations, which began earlier this week, intensified after groups of young demonstrators, who have been at the forefront of recent political activism in Nepal, came face-to-face with UML supporters during a series of heated exchanges.

Security forces have been deployed across key junctions in Bara to prevent further violence. The situation continues to be monitored closely
