U.S. holiday spending this year is expected to breach $1 trillion for the first time ever, according to the National Retail Federation. Despite that, overall spending per consumer is expected to decrease amid inflation and President Donald Trump's tariffs on imported goods, as well as a record-long U.S. government shutdown.

As a result, malls throughout North Jersey have an array of special events planned over the next several weeks to entice shoppers out and open their wallets. We've got a full list of events below.

Real estate services firm JLL projected in September that the average person will spend $1,133 this holiday shopping season — a 10.2% drop from the $1,261 they spent last year.
