The Florida football -Tennessee rivalry conjures up memories of Steve Spurrier and Phil Fulmer on the opposing sidelines, or Tim Tebow plunging ahead on short yardage to spoil a Vols season.
But due to the SEC adopting a nine-game schedule in 2026, the Florida Gators and Tennessee will no longer play on an annual basis. The league determined UF's three permanent opponents the next four years as Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky. Tennessee's three permanent opponents, meanwhile, are Alabama, Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
Florida (3-7, 2-5 SEC) has won 17 of the last 20 meetings against Tennessee. The Gators will try to extend that string of recent dominance when they host the No. 20 Vols (7-3, 3-3 SEC) at The Swamp on Nov. 22 (7:30 p.m., ABC).
