The Victorian Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People, Meena Singh, has announced she is resigning from her role.
Ms Singh, who has served in the role at the Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) since April 2022, said in a statement that Friday would be her last day in the job.
Since March, Ms Singh has also served as Acting Principal Commissioner, as the CCYP saw the fallout of multiple childcare scandals in Victoria.
An ABC investigation in July found the CCYP used its discretionary powers to not escalate two complaints against an accused child abuser , clearing the way for him to continue working with children.
Ms Singh acknowledged the strain of the role in her resignation statement.
