A popular sporting Reserve in Bassendean looks unrecognisable after clubs had to wait weeks for a new irrigation system to be installed.

Jubilee Reserve in Eden Hill — which hosts soccer, football, cricket and little athletics — had works completed which included new cabling and pits under the majority of the playing surfaces.

However, Bassendean cricket club president Noel Seneque said the condition of the playing fields has deteriorated badly since the works began, describing the grounds as a “disgrace” to the cricket club who play there on a weekly basis.

“We’ve got other teams coming to our ground and going, ‘What is happening to your ground?’” he said.

“It’s not just cricket — it’s little athletics, it’s kids playing there, people walking their dogs.
