A sweeping new survey reveals that 91% of Indians say they have personally experienced the effects of global warming, yet 38% do not agree that humans are the main cause.
The findings, presented in the newly released India Climate Opinion Maps , highlight both the intense impacts of erratic monsoons, floods, and droughts across India and the ongoing challenge of building consensus on the causes of climate change.
Created from surveys of over 19,000 respondents between 2022 and 2025, these maps give the most granular view yet of climate perceptions and lived experience across 34 States and Union Territories and 634 districts.
