As temperatures cool and heating bills rise, many Brits are likely to be turning to electric blankets to stay warm through the night. However, did you know that using them with a particular mattress cannot only shorten your mattress's lifespan but also cause a fire?
The mattress experts at MattressNextDay are warning that pairing them with memory foam mattresses could be a "costly and dangerous mistake". Memory foam is specifically engineered to respond to body heat, softening slightly to mould around your shape.
That’s what gives it its signature ‘hugging’ comfort. But that same heat-trapping design means that when you add even more warmth, from a fitted electric blanket, it can push the foam beyond its intended temperature range.
