SUMTER, S.C. — Three people have died in an early morning collision on Broad Street in Sumter, South Carolina.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) Sergeant Tyler Tidwell, there were two vehicles involved in the crash that occurred around midnight Thursday, November 20.
Sgt. Tidwell provided these details: a 2021 Subaru sedan was heading east on Broad Street/US Hwy 378, about 4.5 miles west of the city of Sumter, while a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling north on Copley Drive.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Broad Street and Copley Drive, across from Shaw Air Force Base, and then traveled off the road.
The driver of the Subaru and the driver and occupant of the Chevy all died as a result of the collision.
SCHP is investigating the incident.
