NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock index futures added to their gains after the government reported that employers added twice as many jobs as expected in September. Futures were already higher on enthusiasm for a strong earnings report from AI bellwether Nvidia. Futures for the S&P 500 were up 1.5% before the opening bell, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.8%. Futures for the Nasdaq shot 1.9% higher. The Labor Department said employapners added 119,000 jobs in September, more than double the 50,000 economists had forecast. The market also focused on Nvidia as Wall Street’s most influential company jumped 5.1% overnight after reporting better-than-expected results.
