FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- The good news is construction continues on the $14.1 million renovation of the Gemini Center’s natatorium.
The bad news is users of the entire recreation amenity are facing membership and fee increases expected to be soon approved by City Council.
“With rising costs of the center and the pool opening that’s also adding cost, it’s just time,” Fairview Park Council President Bridget King said. “We’ve only had two increases in our rates in the 19 years that the rec center has been open.
“So all our rates are going up because right now we are very low compared to surrounding communities. The last few years, we talked about this, but with the pool closed, we did not want to increase the rates at all.”
