Money is always tight at Christmas , whether it is getting that special piece of jewellery for your loved one or stuffing the stockings of your offspring, it’s a time to count the pennies.

Everything adds up to, office parties, beers down the local and going all out for a turkey that could feed the street, you want to be conscious about what you are spending.

Especially in Edinburgh when there are so many fantastic festivities to check out and enjoy - none more so than the Christmas Market.

But it has become increasingly difficult to make your money stretch when heading through the gates of East Princes Street Gardens.

With that in mind I headed up to the event to see what I could land for a reasonable £20 - after all, it is a cost of living crisis.
