Emma Little of Oshawa, Ont. wasn’t expecting much when she logged onto OLG.ca and bought a lottery ticket. The 27-year-old made the purchase for a simple reason: her coworker had recently won a prize, and she decided to try her luck too. That decision turned out to be a life-changing one when Little matched all seven Encore numbers in the Aug. 27, 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw, making her a millionaire.

The win came as a shock. Little had only bought 10 lottery tickets in her entire life, making this lucky one her 11th.

“I bought this ticket on OLG.ca because my coworker had just won a nice prize, so I thought I’d try it out,” she said at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where she collected her $1-million prize.

With the reality sinking in, Little says her first priority is helping her community
