WASHINGTON, D.C. — Ten people have been arrested across several countries in a federal operation targeting former Olympic snowboarder Ryan James Wedding who is accused of running a global cocaine empire and ordering the murder of a federal witness, the Department of Justice announced this week .
The arrests bring 11 defendants into custody as part of a widening investigation that prosecutors say exposes a violent criminal enterprise responsible for trafficking tons of cocaine and eliminating anyone who threatened it.
The DOJ said Wedding, 44, a Canadian national and the accused leader of the network, remains at large and on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List. Prosecutors say Wedding oversaw an operation that stretched from Colombia to Canada and the U.S., using cartel connections
