After serving as Cupertino’s interim city manager since May, Tina Kapoor was named to the permanent position by a unanimous vote of the City Council on Nov. 18. Kapoor assumed the her new role the following day.

Kapoor has almost 25 years of local government experience, having worked for the cities of San José, Fremont and Cupertino. Prior to her appointment as interim city manager, she served as Cupertino’s interim assistant city manager, deputy city manager and economic development manager.

Before coming to Cupertino, Kapoor led major economic development initiatives in Fremont and San José, supporting business growth, downtown revitalization and workforce development.
