This week’s live music options in New Orleans include a classical/hip-hop collaboration and bevy of tribute shows through Thanksgiving Eve.

A TRIBUTE TO ART NEVILLE & EDDIE BO

WEDNESDAY, TIPITINA’S

In what has become a Thanksgiving Eve tradition, Tipitina’s will host an all-star tribute to New Orleans music legends. Past tributes, all of them produced by former Tipitina’s and House of Blues talent buyer Sonny Schneidau, have honored Irma Thomas, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Fats Domino and Huey “Piano” Smith, Professor Longhair and Earl King.

This year’s tribute, the seventh overall, salutes two titans of the New Orleans piano tradition: the late Art Neville and Eddie Bo. The Neville portion of the show will focus on the singles he released for Specialty Records.
