Driverless cars are hitting the streets of Miami as Waymo has launched its first autonomous vehicles in the Magic City.
Waymo announced that operations in Miami began on Tuesday as the company is expanding to four other cities including Orlando, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio in the coming weeks.
The new technology allows cars to travel without a driver, using artificial intelligence.
Waymo’s robotaxi service currently operates in Austin, the San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix, Atlanta and Los Angeles markets. They also have plans to expand to Tampa, New Orleans and Minneapolis.
Rides in Miami aren't available to customers yet, as they're being limited to company employees.
The company said it expects to allow the public to take rides in Miami as early as January.
