Agartala, 20th November 2025 : In a remarkable step towards reducing plastic waste, Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir (BTVM) has introduced ‘Jadui Neer’ edible water balls, an innovative and eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic bottles. The highlight of the initiative is that the water balls were prepared by Class IX student Nabamita Paul, under the guidance of Chemistry teacher Mukta Roy.

The lightweight, biodegradable spheres made through the spherification process provide instant hydration and are especially useful during sports events where plastic waste usually spikes. Students were also given a hands-on demonstration, showcasing how basic chemistry principles can produce practical, environment-friendly solutions.
