Food delivery platform Zomato is in the final stages of negotiations with the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) to share customer data with restaurant partners, potentially bringing an end to a dispute that has simmered for nearly a decade. The industry body has also initiated similar discussions with Swiggy, NRAI Vice President Pranav M Rungta told businessline .
Rungta said the development marks an important shift in how platforms and restaurants collaborate. “This is a positive step forward for the ecosystem. Access to customer insights will help restaurants understand their diners better—not to bombard them with communication, but to design smarter marketing funnels, optimise spends, and serve customers with more relevance,” he said.
