(CNN)– The federal government announced it won’t release a full jobs report for October.

That’s because the government shutdown prevented collection of the household survey data which is done mostly through phone and in-person visits.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics said the data it does have for October will be rolled into November’s full report.

The 43-day shutdown was the longest in U.S. history.

It’s created an unprecedented situation for the statistical agencies that collect, analyze, and distribute critical economic data.
