Not everyone from ESPN shares Cam Newton’s dismissive stance on the New England Patriots.
The former MVP quarterback doesn’t trust his old team’s hot start. Newton called the Patriots “fool’s gold” on Friday’s “First Take” after their Week 11 win over the New York Jets.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter disagreed with his colleague’s declaration during a Wednesday appearance on “WEEI Afternoons.”
“I don’t believe that,” Schefter said.
While Schefter doesn’t expect the Patriots to win a championship, he anticipates their first AFC East title since 2019. He’s also not writing off New England’s chances to make a deep playoff run.
