A man convicted of murder in the shooting death of a Florence motel owner was sentenced to life in prison Thursday morning, according to newly filed court documents.

William Moore shot and killed Pravin Patel in 2024 at the Hillcrest Motel in Sheffield, after Patel refused to give him a room.

Moore was found guilty of murder on Oct. 22.
