A driver whose SUV ran a red light on the Anthony Wayne Trail in South Toledo and fatally struck another vehicle in late May pleaded guilty Thursday morning in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular homicide.
Laurie Greene, 22, of Toledo, died in a hospital 13 days after the May 29 collision at the Sherwood Avenue intersection, which was within sight and earshot of people setting up the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Festival.
Desmond L. Dohbit, 32, pleaded guilty Thursday before Judge Lori Olender to third-degree aggravated vehicular homicide and fourth-degree aggravated vehicular assault. The latter charge related to injuries suffered by Simon Keough, 22, of Liberty Center, Ohio, the driver of the struck car.
