I was entranced by both the herbal dome, inspired by Latvian ‘pirts’ with its grass mat entryway and warm mists, and the signature sauna ritual led by wellness guides. It’s a multi-sensory experience combining heat, breathwork, sound and aromatherapy.

Taking about 15 minutes, the sauna guides waft three consecutive scents over guests with a hypnotic towel and leaf dance. First is a coffee concoction meant to energize. The second is a refreshing, citrusy yuzu aroma, and the third is Swisstone pine — a perfect choice for a mountain spa in Canmore.
