A 24-year-old Frederick woman has been convicted in the 2023 murder of an 18-year-old Gaithersburg woman that authorities say was ordered by the MS-13 gang, Montgomery County prosecutors announced.
Iris Alonzo-Salgado was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and participating in a criminal organization resulting in death after a bench trial before Judge Theresa Chernosky in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.
Alonzo-Salgado waived her right to a jury trial.
Alonzo-Salgado faces the possibility of two life sentences plus 25 additional years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2026.
