A large police investigation is underway in Gardner, Massachusetts, on Thursday, in connection to the ongoing search for fugitive Aaron Pennington, wanted in connection with his wife's murder in 2023.

The Worcester District Attorney's Office confirmed that state police detectives assigned to their office have what they described only as an "ongoing investigation" in Gardner. They said they had no other information to release.

State police later confirmed that there is an active search for Pennington, wanted in connection to his wife Breanne Pennington's homicide in October of 2023.
