PANAJI: The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) began with a spectacular procession, including floats depicting the history of cinema from the states of Goa, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. It was also notable that there were no floats from states, including Kerala. The procession that started from INOX premises in Panaji ended at the Kala Academy.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Union Ministers L Murugan, Shripad Naik, Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Festival Director Shekhar Kapur, Anupam Kher, famous Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and a posse of cine actors. Brazilian film Blue Trail was the inaugural screening of the festival.
The main feature of this year's film festival is the AI hackathon. Union Minister L. Murugan said that
